The program was super supportive and allowed us to gain real work experience while also helping us develop our resumes and network with other departments in the company
What I wish was different
I wish the position had lasted longer and that it was in person
Advice
Never be afraid to reach out to fellow alumni or your network to talk about their careers if they are in an industry that interests you, because people are always more than happy to connect and answer a few questions. Also, definitely reach out and network with your fellow interns because that is a great way to network with your future industry peers very early on.

Digital Marketing Intern
June - August 2021 • New York City, NY
What I liked
It was an extremely integrative experience where I got to learn about how digital marketing works through multiple channels and affiliates, and how to analyze data to figure out what strategy we should implement next. I gained confidence in myself and strengthened abilities that I wouldn’t have been able to if it weren’t for my team and this opportunity.
What I wish was different
I wish it hadn’t been virtual, but this is due to the pandemic.
Advice
Stay curious. Always ask questions and show your manager what you’re interested in. I asked my manger a lot of questions about the brand strategy side our campaigns and ended up helping the branding team on a project!

Great, fast pace environment where you learn how to give the best customer service possible.
What I wish was different
Longer meal, it’s only 30 minutes and there’s always long lines to buy food at the food court
Advice
Having a second language always helps when working at the woodbury commons. Mainly all customers are tourists so it helps if you know their language

What I liked
I gained experience in the higher end of retail and what it means to cater to clients in such an atmosphere. I enjoyed the people I worked with and serviced, as well as the products offered.
What I wish was different
Although I loved working with this brand, I wish that I was more familiar with this brand prior to being hired, it would have made transitioning from a department store to a luxury brand more smooth.
Advice
Immerse yourself in your brand and gain knowledge of who you work for and why you do it. It makes small tasks worth the hassle.

I liked interacting with different kinds of people and helping find what's best for themselves or a significant other. When I would work stock, I enjoyed learning about the company and store. Being able to be apart of a brand that is well-known and a company that is very successful not just in the fashion sense but also business.

What I liked
I loved the fast-paced enviroment of working here! We worked off large sales goals and were constantly pushed to learn new "Michael experiences" which helped us as associates better talk to clients and customers.
What I wish was different
Nothing really, you just have to have a thick skin during holiday months because sometimes customers are upset that you don't carry a product they're looking for.
Advice
Have a positive mindset! It makes the world of difference in your job.
