Legacy Foundation is the community foundation serving Lake County, IN. Legacy is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization operating under the leadership of a volunteer board of directors.
Legacy Foundation serves the community in five important ways:
Helping donors invest and manage their charitable assets.
Providing grants to organizations serving the Lake County community.
Awarding scholarships to Lake County students as motivation to graduate high school and complete college.
Collaborating with local leaders to solve problems and enhance residents' quality of life.
Serving as a mentor and resource center to ensure nonprofit organizations can effectively provide services to our community.
Since 1992, Legacy Foundation has awarded more than $40 million in grants and scholarships, and has helped over 250 not-for-profit organizations. Today we manage more than 300 individual donors' funds representing $60 million in assets.
